One of the first questions I ask my students is “why are you here?” so I’d expect you to want to know the same for me. Let me start by sharing what I stand for, I stand for healing through nutrition and movement. I teach people with tight hips, muscle pain, and poor nutrition how to stretch, strengthen, and eat better so that they feel better.

For the past 10 years, I have devoted myself to teaching Pilates, serving students in the Chicagoland area.  My passion is in dance.  I started with street dancing, Mexican Ballet Folklorico dance, and have studied modern and contact improvisational dance.  During my dance training at Columbia College - Chicago, I was introduced to Pilates and fell in love.

I remember so well how I would watch my Pilates teachers give a student a cue and I could literally see how the body would realign itself. It was amazing to watch! I decided to study more in-depth after college and have never regretted it.

My teaching methods, which stem from Joseph Pilates and my own dance career, involve a movement-based, systematic, integrative approach. I have seen that having my students learn within a flowing style strengthens their mind-body muscle and gets them to listen to their  body's own consciousness.

With consistent practice, this awareness can alleviate weaknesses that contribute to chronic injuries allowing a deeper connection to the body and an ability to listen to their own internal compass. I emphasize the importance of responsibility for your own body and I’m committed to helping others find that power within themselves.

I have now partnered with Purium, a whole foods-based nutrition company that sells superfoods, and am excited to combine nutrient-dense foods with mindset exercises in my programs.   I believe just as a scar heals on the skin, the body has the potential to heal from any illness or pain. And if you have that same belief I will work with you on releasing the source of your pain.  When I’m not working, I spend my time traveling to other countries  so that I can continue to expand my knowledge and perspective. And that makes me a better teacher.
